Time Flies!

Hello
Doesn't time fly by when you are having fun!
Where has the year gone? We are soon off on our annual jaunt to France, luckily we are going on the ferry so no worries re: volcanic ash! Although we are due to fly to Scotland in July for Julians Birthday treat! Yes my beloved husband is 50 in July! He is having more celebrations than the Queen lol. First a trip to Carnoustie to watch golf, then his 'Tropical themed birthday party ( any ideas for that welcomed!) finally he and his twin brother are having a golf day. Yes July should be a busy month.
My other news is I have a cat! He is the love of my life. There is a long story to his arrival here....as you know we lost our faithful dog Skar at christmas. We were thinking of getting a rescue dog to keep Jackson company when fate stepped in! (All our animals have a story attached!). After a hard Saturday at work ,I was too tired or lazy to cook so we decided on a takeway. For some unknown reason Julian only wanted a chinese from a paticular place where we never normally go, so after a lot of grumbling from me we set off. Just as we were nearly there Julian shouted at me to stop the car. Out he jumped and inched in front of me was a kitten, he picked it up and as it was dark and cold and it was very small we pondered on what to do? After lots of door knocking and no luck we picked up the takeaway and brought him home! Now I have been allergic to cats since I was a small child and Jackson loves to chase them so I was a bit apprehensive to say the least. Anyway to cut a long story short as I am sure you are all bored stiff by now the outcome was....I am no longer allergic and Jackson has found a wonderful friend. No one claimed The Little Dude as Harry calls him and we just dote on him. How anyone could have abandoned him i will never know he is the perfect pet. Pictures to follow. Cortez (his proper name..after a Neil Young song (dont ask) is now roughly about 7-8 months old . I am the most sceptical person alive feel Skar sent him to us.
Any way I will post some pictures later and bore you with my latest crochet projects!!
Love to all Louise xx

Crochet

Hi All
Thanks for your kind words after my last post. We are all Ok now although Skar is still sorely missed. Jackson is relishing his new role as King of the House! He is a different dog he is not pulling on his lead and we have had no food stealing. He has been a pleasure.
Harry is away on Cadet Camp so the house is quiet..thought you might like to see some of my "creations". I am loving to crochet, I can barely put it down to eat lol.
Hope you like...just pretend if you dont that what my boys do!!!

sad day

Today is a sad day in our house. Our dear dog ,loyal friend of nearly 12 years has been put to sleep. I felt the need to write this as a little tribute to him. He had been getting a bit unsteady on his back legs and grumbling alot, but still enjoyed his walks and his dinner so we had put it down to old age. He then started having fits over christmas. The one I saw is something I never wish to see again. So today with sad hearts we took him to the vets . She thought as we did that he had a brain tumour probably spread from somewhere else. Drugs could have given him a few more weeks but the kindest thing was not to let him suffer. So we said goodbye and sat with him until the end. I have never had to do anything so sad. Jackson is looking for him in the garden and has never been alone before so we dont know how he will adjust as he is of a nervous disposition at the best of times.
Anyway just needed to write this down sorry if it depresses anyone who reads it.

Hi

Hi
Thought I would put pen to paper or finger to mouse! The summer holidays are halfway through...H will be moving up to upper school in September which both he and I are bit apprehensive about. A fortune has been spent on new uniform etc.
We have camped and been to London in the last two weeks. H and I took a spanish lad to see the sights the highlights for them was a trip to Harrods and a stadium tour of Chelsea FC. OK that was my highlight! H is earning money by caddying for his Dad taking half his winnings (Which is not much hes no Tiger Woods !!).
We have had a weekend in Surrey and went to watch the Seniors Golf Open. H met some famous golfers so he was very happy.
Back to work next week .
What else is new....not much lol.
Have just read Dawn Frenchs autobiography which I would highly recommend.
Hoping life is treating you all well

I am still here1

Hi all

Yes its me ...I am still here!

I have been working almost full time since easter so have not had much time to myself. I have been working to help out one of my oldest friends her son who is the same age as my eldest was taken ill over Easter on his return from uni and has been in hospital since. He has a form of lymphoma and is receiving very aggresive chemo so obviously she is unable to work and make a 60+ mile trip to cambridge daily. Every time I feel a bit tired and stressed think of how they all must be feeling.

Julian and Harry went to Berlin and had a good time, it was really hot and came back with a tan!

We went to our friends 40th birthday party on Saturday, I cooked a paella for her LIVE whilst people watched....I felt like Nigella! It turned out well thank goodness. Julian cooked his special ribs which went down well too! Above is a picture of us all enjoying ourselves! Fiona whos party it was is moving to Qatar with her husband and children so it was a bit of a farewell too. No picure of the paella I am afraid we had to go back home after it was cooked to fetch the camera!
Sunday we are off to France so I will post again on my return.
Take care all and even if I dont post I always read your blogs xxxxx
